Grace Kelly

On Monday, after class, I went again to the Victoria & Albert to finally see the Grace Kelly exhibit! It was beautiful, showing videos of her movies, as well as footage of her at royal events. I saw her Oscar gown, her wedding suit for her civil wedding, her shoes, jewels, etc. It was interesting to watch her style shift from very classic, simple, tailored dresses by Cassini and Helen Rose that she wore as a young actress, to ornate, more colorful figure-forgiving caftans by Yves Saint Laurent as she got older.

We were not allowed to take pictures, but I was on a rogue mission to take a pic of her Hermes Kelly bag!

Mission Accomplished!

Afterwards, I bought a cappuccino and scone and sat in the most beautiful room in the V & A.

I think I stared at the ceiling for 10 minutes.

Then, on to Fortnum & Mason to pick up some tea for Mom. I have many treats for her!

Only one more day of class left! Cannot believe that my month in London has flown by - I love this city and it was wonderful to live here, even if for short time.

Cannot wait to see Edmund at the airport! And my family later on in the week!

Last Weekend in London

Friday: Carmel and I had a lovely lunch and then went to the Natural History Museum.

Saturday: Went to Sloane Square, had some gelato, and tried to study. (Notice use of the word "tried.")

And Saturday, we had a girls night and went to a club called Fabric. I think we look pretty cute!

Sunday: Carmel and I went to Stonehenge!

Such a beautiful end to the weekend!

Tomorrow, I have 4 hours of class and then the V&A for the Grace Kelly exhibit and Fortnum & Mason! : )

Adventure of the Macaro0ns

After our last class of the week on Thursday, Carmel and I went to lunch at a nice Italian place with some of our classmates. It was right by the St. Martins School of Art & Design, and I could absolutely swear that I saw Mick Jagger's son!

After lunch, Carmel and I went to Knightsbridge, which is the posh shopping district of London. All of the society wives and movie stars shop there; Carmel and I blended right in of course! : )

We first went to Harrods.

Absolutely magical. Everything in there was wonderful and very expensive. After walking around for awhile, I started craving something sweet, and accidentally walked into Laduree, which is the most famous place for French macaroons. It is an understatement when I say that I was excited...I felt like Marie Antoinette for a minute! The pastries were absolutely gorgeous and the macaroons were adorable. I bought six macaroons (chocolate, vanilla, raspberry, caramel with salted butter and coffee) and they came in an absolutely chic little box with a ribbon.

Yes, I know, I took pictures of macaroons. I don't care if you think that's weird...because I was excited! : )

Then after Harrods, Carmel and I hit up the opening day of Topshop in Knightsbridge. Kate Moss had actually been in the store hours earlier to open up the shop. I bought a cute pair of sunglasses and Carmel bought some earrings.

And then we took a picture with the Topshop security guard, AJ.

Then we walked around Hyde Park.

We also snuck into the Mandarin Oriental and looked around - very beautiful! One day I hope to stay there! : )

What time is it?

It has been a crazy week...classes have picked up quite a bit, and I was sooo tired from all the reading. We have just started learning about arbitration.

Anyways, enough about boring stuff! On Tuesday, Christine and I left class and went to Paperchase, an amazing stationery/art shop. Adorable cards, art supplies and such...got some cheap birthday cards for friends. Then we stumbled upon an Oxfam store, which is just like Goodwill, but nicer. Mom, you would have loved it!! Got two books for practically nothing:

On Wednesday, after class, the entire law school group took a boat ride to Greenwich, to see the Royal Observatory and the Prime Meridian!

The boat ride was lovely and the weather was perfect.

My Legs Feel Like Jello!

We had sooo much fun today, but we walked for 8 hours straight and we are sooo tired!!!!! I have tried to be cute for the past week and wear pretty flats and boots, but I had to break out the American sneakers today because my feet were a wreck, and I am so glad I did! : )

Christine, Carmel and I went to Camden Market today to see if we could find some bargains. I got a scarf for 3 pounds, but that was about it, nothing too special to buy.

We had lunch at a Lebanese cafe, and then bought some cupcakes!

And we then walked by a canal near Camden.

Continuing the walking tour, and at which point my legs started to ache, we walked around Regent's Park. Very green and beautiful flowers.

I'm so happy to be traveling with such lovely ladies!

Make a wish!
